The intention behind this album was to capture the immense diversity of cultures, history and music of Europe alongside the Danube river and to transport a feeling of connection. This album is meant to be a symbol for unity of all these different cultures, countries and people. Resonating not only in the different sources of inspiration like local music traditions, quotes of classical composers, experiences of traveling alongside this massive stream, meeting people and hear there stories, but also in having several fantastic guests I‘ve brought this new music to life with.

From the source to the mouth into the Black Sea, the focus of this album is not on a descriptive portrayal of the diverse riverside landscapes. Instead, the emphasis is on the river’s flow itself. It’s an attempt not just to let the relentless current, its stories and its history pass by, but to become a part of it – to transform from an external observer into an explorer from within.
